In 2022, Magpie Dance developed the Shadow Board, that supports young people and adults with learning disabilities to join operational and strategic conversations and take up leadership roles. This is integral, not only for our dancers own professional development and opportunity to interact with the board, but to provide valuable insights directly to the board, giving them an opportunity to interact with the board, and for trustees to hear firsthand from the dancers. In February of 2024, a review was conducted of the Shadow Board and in light of this discussion, the decision was made to rename and restructure the Shadow Board in favour of a new and improved Dancers Committee.
