Magpie Dance seeks Trustees to secure the future for inspiring arts charity.

Magpie Dance is now actively recruiting volunteers to join its Board of Trustees and is welcoming applications from candidates from all backgrounds. Applications are particularly sought from those with expertise and a background in the following priority areas:

Human Resources, Senior Exec Mentoring, Organisational Development, Dance or Performing Arts, Fundraising, Production Management and experience in the charity sector. Magpie Dance is also seeking a Treasurer with skills in finance and accounting.

Magpie Dance is the UK’s leading dance charity working with people with learning disabilities. Since 1985, the company has been running workshops and dance classes for children and adults. Participants have a range of learning disabilities and are aged three +, with no upper age limit on taking part.

Working with professional dance practitioners and musicians, through dance, participants gain significant life, social and communication skills with measurable health and wellbeing benefits. They stage regular performances, often in prestigious performing arts venues and ambitious and highly skilled dancers are supported through professional progression pathways.

The charity also delivers professional training for education, dance, health and business clients nationally, and we work in partnership with the NHS to provide in-patient work for clients with dementia and a range of complex learning disabilities.

Trustees have responsibility for the strategic direction, governance and development of this award winning charity based in SE London.
