National Diversity Awards 2020
In these very unprecedented times, the Magpie Dance team are happy to share some good news. We are proud to announce that we have been nominated for the National Diversity Awards under the category of Community Organisation!
This is such an honour in light of the hard work and effort that has been put in throughout the past 35 years to build Magpie Dance into what it is today. Magpie Dance has grown from a small group that met once a week into a nationally recognised dance charity. After 35 years, we are proud to have a number of sessions, initiatives and opportunities that benefit a diverse range of learning disabled dancers, and we are excited to continue to grow.
The good news doesn’t stop there! We are thrilled to share that our incredible Executive Director Laura Graham has also received a nomination for Positive Role Model (Disability). For over 12 years, Laura has been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make everything happen. She is such a key member of the Magpie Dance team, consistently advocating for the company and dancers alike. We feel that it is time Laura was recognised.
