Magpie Dance, the UK’s leading dance charity for people of all ages with learning disabilities, invite you to join our “No Longer Hidden” tour. Performing new choreography and excerpts of “Hidden Impact”, Magpie Dancers are live on tour.
A unique opportunity to discover another side to the First World War.
Building on the hugely successful Hidden Impact, discovering stories of people with learning disabilities and their journeys to the front line, as hospital records were released after 100 years, Magpie Dance are taking it to the next chapter.
Working with former Royal Ballet soloists, Laura McCulloch and David Pickering, MBE, ten Magpie dancers have been excelling on a 7-week residency at the Royal Opera House.
With special permission from Lady MacMillan, Magpie dancers choreographed new material inspired by Kenneth MacMillan’s ballet “Gloria” also based on the Great War.
Kicking off a tour of this new material and excerpts from the stunning “Hidden Impact”, Magpie Dance will be performing Live at Lunch this Friday at, no less than, the Royal Opera House itself.
Magpie dancer Annie said: “Amazing. I really like doing it. It’s just wow”.
Our dancers would love to have your support and will certainly impress you with their talent. The No Longer Hidden tour is supported by The National Lottery Heritage Lottery Fund. With many performances open to the public and free to attend, you can see all dates in upcoming performances.
Watch our weekly vlogs on the Magpie Dance YouTube channel to find out more about the 7-week residency. Vlogs feature all the dancers and behind the scenes footage.
The No Longer Hidden Tour launches this Friday 8th November, 1.00pm – 1.45pm, Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Join us there! The performance is free and there’s no need to book.
